I believe my role as a teacher is to give students the tools they need, and then guide them towards improvement without letting myself get in the way. For example, to improve students’ speaking ability, I create a classroom environment where they can feel comfortable expressing themselves in English. We can then work towards greater fluency, while making sure I give meaningful feedback to make their speaking as error-free as possible. At CES we all share success in the IELTS test as a specific goal, and I find that this gives a solid framework upon which I can base my teaching techniques allowing students to really achieve progress.
